Brief
The architectural brief for this beach house was to expand the existing two-room dwelling into a larger but modest holiday home suitable for both the rental market and for the owners’ family holidays.
Sustainable Features
The house was designed to maximise airflow which was enhanced by the existing orientation. Maintaining many aspects of the existing dwelling helped to minimalise the cost of the renovation. Water tanks and PV panels were installed. Robust materials and careful detailing have meant that maintenance in this seaside home is kept to the minimum.
