I engaged Chris to plan some major renovations to one of our properties and have been overwhelming happy with both the process and outcome, from beginning brief to handover.

We had quite a few challenges with restrictions imposed by the existing building and spaces, however he was able to overcome these and still remain true to the original design concept.

The building stage of the project was also handled very professionally, beginning with the tender process and selection of builders through to ensuring the quality of finish and work were of an extremely high standard.

Communication at this stage of the project was important to minimize disruptions and ensure all deadlines were met. Chris once again showed his professionalism and attention to detail by constantly giving progress reports and ensuring any problems arising were dealt with swiftly, and all timelines met.

He is always able to find a solution quickly with a minimum of fuss when problems arise, making sure to consider the repercussions to other aspects of the build if changes are necessary. At any stage through the project, changes we requested were willingly made if they maintained or enhanced the function and aesthetics of the envisaged building. Indeed, he is very keen to see his clients achieve the best possible end result.

Meetings were always arranged with consideration of clients’ time commitments. They were well spaced and kept to reasonable length to avoid information overload. They were very focused so that the objectives could be reached within the given time frame. Everything was discussed at length and in great detail regarding cost, colour, quality, durability etc. of products with the latest samples from manufacturers. For products such as windows, doors, electrical goods and joinery we were taken to large reputable enterprises with experienced staff who gave best advice on their extensive model range.

Chris subcontracted high- calibre professionals to cover aspects of the project like town- planning, engineering and soil- testing.

The opportunity to tender for the construction of our home was only given to builders with a reputation for high quality work and sound financial management.

Chris’s accounts for professional services rendered and notices of draw-down amounts for the builder were sent after each stage of the build with plenty of time and options for payment.

We are delighted with the result that Chris was able to achieve for us, considering that it was a difficult build with major demolition and renovation of an existing single-story dwelling tied- in with a new double- story section.

As part of a volunteer organisation we are quite often expected to have knowledge in areas that obviously are not for the uneducated. Chris has made the experience of managing the building and design part of this job this much easier and ensuring that our valuable and hard earned money is put to the best use. With his practical approach to designing specifically what is required for our youth members needs, we were able to efficiently allocate the funds. We had to have projects that were going to give us the best outcome for our members.

Our large den has been revamped inside and out and currently we are working on a durable but user friendly kitchen design. Chris’s logically approach has made decision making so much easier and his quick response time has ensured that we have met all time limits put upon us.
